Throughout His Word, God defines Himself in very relational terms. He never wanted to be distant from us. When He created mankind in the Garden of Eden, His heart’s desire was to walk and talk with man in a relational way… and to meet our needs. Our desire at New Destiny BFC is to support and inspire you towards your personal decision to build a deeper relationship with God, in an active and real way, through the preached Word, our music ministries, relevant outreach opportunities and more.

Our Foundation
New Destiny Bible Fellowship Church was first organized April 15, 2007 under the leadership of its pastor/founder, Rev. John P. Gardner, holding its first service in the cafeteria of the De Santiago School in the Aldine Independent School District of Houston, Texas. The power of the Lord fell in a mighty way during that first service with 20 receiving the right hand of fellowship as inaugural members. Since then, our church family has grown and continues to be tremendously blessed by the Lord. We are a family church where you can ‘feel at home’ while growing in your understanding and knowledge of God’s Word and strengthening your personal Christian walk.
For the past 16 years, New Destiny has been a beacon of hope to its thriving membership and the surrounding community. In 2020, when the world experienced a once-in-a-century pandemic, New Destiny adjusted and expanded its reach beyond the church walls and surrounding community through social media and now reaches a national and international audience hungry for the Word of God.

MEET OUR PASTOR AND FOUNDER
Rev. John P. Gardner is a native of Houston, Texas and is the Founder and Pastor of the New Destiny Bible Fellowship Church (NDBFC). He sincerely believes in educating and equipping the people of God, so they can reach their fullest potential in Christ. Pastor Gardner firmly believes that God can change anyone from the inside out. He has a true servant’s heart and pastoral spirit that cares for and embraces those under his leadership (and beyond) towards an ongoing, deeper and closer relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition, Pastor Gardner places discipleship at the highest rung of his calling into the ministry.
His insight and humor as a communicator make him a favorite of audiences from all walks of life. God has bestowed the gift
of teaching on him that is reflected, not only in his extemporaneous and practical delivery of the Word of God, but also in his occupational profession. After obtaining a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mathematics from Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), Pastor Gardner has served for the past two and a half decades with the State of Texas at PVAMU as an instructor of mathematics and Assistant Vice President for Academic Engagement and Student Success. He has had the honor of also serving at the pleasure of the President of the University as Interim Athletic Director and Interim Dean of Students.
Pastor Gardner has devoted his adult life to service, not only as a Pastor and in his occupation, but to the community as well. From establishing partnerships with the Houston Food Bank and Target Hunger to meet the food insecurity/shortage within the church’s surrounding community; providing resources and bicycles to youth after Hurricane Harvey; to ongoing collaborations with nursing homes in North Houston providing on-site ministry, visitation and fellowship to the elderly, NDBFC, under the leadership of Pastor Gardner, is a church that believes lives are changed in service to our community in alignment with our relationship with God.
Above all, Pastor Gardner serves as a husband to his best friend, First Lady Idonia L. Gardner, Esq. and father to their five adult children (twins Aires and AriReal, Tyler, Ruby and Roslyn). After more than a decade and a half since founding the church, New Destiny Bible Fellowship Church is a beacon of hope and Pastor Gardner is still standing firm in the calling God has entrusted him to serve through “Rebuilding Lives by Restoring Souls” to Christ Jesus.

AUDIO/VISUAL PRODUCTION TEAM
This volunteer support team provides technical expertise for all of the church’s sound, media, video, stage lighting and internet broadcasts related to the Worship experience at New Destiny Bible Fellowship Church. The environment is one of fun, creativity, and teamwork with a passion for excellence in serving and worshiping God through audio and visual ministry. It requires one to possess a servant’s heart and a collaborative spirit! If you have experience in working with a variety of audio, video, media and/or internet-based broadcasting (or have a passion to learn!), this may be just the team for you!
