MEN’S MINISTRY & FELLOWSHIP

Our desire at New Destiny is to develop a community of men dedicated to cultivating real relationships and spiritual maturity. WOMEN’S MINISTRY & FELLOWSHIP

Women_s Ministry Banner.jpg

Women of Divine Destiny, seeks to encourage the spiritual development of women and inspire an intentional relationship with God and among one another.

Signature events include a Monthly Women’s Connect, Annual Women’s Conferences, Secret Sisters, volunteerism and outreach opportunities in partnership with the “Give A Purse Project” and “Mission of Yahweh” Women and Children’s Shelter of Greater Houston.  Since June  2021, "Prayer Time with Destiny’s Daughters" led by Deaconess Sharonda Wright has provided the on-the-move women of New Destiny with a quick connect to join together in intercessory prayer,

praise and thanksgiving in support of one another as we victoriously wade through the stressors of enormous responsibilities and increasing adjustments to the once-in-a-century pandemic. In addition, feel free to join us in a quarterly Women’s Bible Study/Fellowship entitled “Women ♥ the Word Fellowship”

Our Welcome & Hospitality Ministry is designed to ensure that each person that enters our doors at New Destiny Bible Fellowship Church has a meaningful and connected experience upon arrival and throughout the service. These volunteers play a vital role as ‘gatekeepers’ of the church. Showing the hospitality of Christ to congregants, supporting leadership needs before, during and after the service and welcoming members, guests and friends into our worship experience is inspired by:

Hebrews 13:2  “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

Romans 12:13 “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”

If you enjoy making folks smile and helping others through friendly, Christ-like hospitality, this volunteer service ministry just may be the right fit for you at New Destiny!

YOUTH MINISTRY

At New Destiny, our goal is to respond to the social and spiritual needs of our  children and youth and those in our community.  We do this by providing impactful programs, activities, and events that will allow children and youth to build a strong foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. New Destiny provides Sunday school and vacation bible school growth opportunities to engage our young hearts and minds in Godly principles and values. Our youth give back to the community through back-to-school supply drives and numerous volunteer service opportunities.  In addition, the praise dance team shares their love for God through the physical expression of worship.

Our vision is for our youth to be:

POSITIVE that God loves them and that He has a good plan and purpose for their lives.

PERSUADED that God’s way really is the Way, the Truth and Life.

PASSIONATE for Jesus Christ, for His church, for the needy, and for the lost.

PREPARED for life, for relationships, for service, and for leadership.

COMMUNITY SERVICE & OUTREACH MINISTRY

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10

New Destiny reaches beyond the four walls of the church to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the community by providing practical opportunities for members to serve, share the love of Jesus Christ  with others and make a difference in our community.  Service in the spiritual and physical context are seen as, but not limited to: 1) teaching the Word of God to those who are in need, 2) counseling the broken-hearted, the elderly and the lonely, 3) supporting food shortage and hunger relief efforts and 4) supporting children and youth in need.  Below are examples of the local outreach missions that New Destiny has and continues to share God’s love with our community:

FOOD INSECURITY/SHORTAGE OUTREACH

In 2019-2020, New Destiny members donated more than 1500 pounds of dry and canned good items to the Houston Food Bank to meet food shortage needs of Houston’s most vulnerable populations.  In the winter of 2020 - 2023, we partnered with the Halverstock Hills Apartments to share God’s love during the pandemic and beyond by giving families in need a “Thanksgiving Box” filled with dry and canned goods to ensure identified families would have sufficient food and nutrition during the holidays.

HURRICANE HARVEY BIKE GIVE-AWAY

New Destiny members fulfilled their mission of “Touching Houston with Love in 2017” when they donated 50 bikes to children impacted  by Hurricane Harvey, one of the most devastating natural disasters in Texas history.  Along with bicycles, youth learned about God's plan of salvation through a fun-filled day of activities in the cafeteria of the Aldine ISD De Santiago Elementary School.  In addition, New Destiny has partnered with the Covenant House of Texas to provide support to Houston’s homeless youth.

PARTNERSHIP WITH SENIOR LIVING AND NURSING HOME FACILITIES

For many years, New Destiny has partnered with senior living and nursing homes to spread  happiness to the elderly and lonely.  In partnership with Oakmont Healthcare & Rehab Center, Bridgecrest Rehabilitation Center, Park Manor of Humble, and Willowbrook Residence & Rehab Center, our members volunteer their time in visiting with residence individually, sharing nuggets of God’s Word through song and scriptures and leaving them with warm socks, gloves and treats.  It is always a beautiful time of sharing.

100 ELDERLY RECEIVED CHRISTMAS LOVE BAGS DURING THE 2020 PANDEMIC

New Destiny partnered with The Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation serving elderly residents at the Haverstock Hills Apartments in Humble, TX and the Fulton Village Senior Apartments in Houston, TX to provide Christmas Love Packages to 100 elderly residents. Each care bag contained warm socks and gloves, Christmas and regular crossword puzzles, hand sanitizers, NDBFC "God's Simple Plan of Salvation" brochure and a 'whole heap of love!'
